    • SAF vermeld 'n dogter Anna wat op 25 April 1726 gedoop sou wees. Sommige sekondêre bronne vermeld dat sy aan Drakenstein gedoop is. Daar is egter geen vermelding vir die doop van 'n Anna Gouws op die datum, nog in die Drakensteinse doopregister, nog in die doopregisters van Kaapstad en Stellenbosch. Op die 25ste April 1726 is daar trouens geen kinders in enige van die gemeentes gedoop nie.

      Gepubliseerde bronne van die Gous-familie is vol foute. Pieter GOUS, gebore 10.7.1753 (a b3 c4 d1), gedoop Kaapstad 11.11.1753; x Paarl 26.5.1776 Maria Johanna BECK word aangegee dat hy op 17.5.1801 in Kaapstad hertrou met Sara Elizabeth VOSLOO, gedoop Kaapstad 30.8.1776.

      Dit was egter sy vader, Pieter GOUS (a b3 c4) , gebore 11.4.1727, gedoop Paarl 6.7.1727 wie se tweede vrou Sara Elizabeth VOSLOO was. Hy is op 5.10/11.1752 te Tulbagh getroud met Magdalena BRITS, gebore 11.4.1737, oorlede 1799. Pieter GOUS was 74 jaar oud tydens sy tweede huwelik en sy bruid 25 jaar oud. Sy was 23 jaar jonger as haar oudste stiefkind, Pieter GOUS en genealoe het seker aangeneem dat sy eerder met hom as met sy vader getroud was.

      Om sake nog verder te verwar is albei Pieter GOUS'e in 1819 oorlede. Pieter junior se testament is op 6.2.1819 geliasseer en Pieter senior s'n op 3.7.1819.

      Pieter senior se testament noem die name van 13 kinders by sy eerste vrou, Magdalena Brits en 3 dogters by sy tweede vrou, Sara Elizabeth Vosloo [KAB: MOOC 7/1/80 no.1]
